ABOUT ME
Active Living
In my spare time, I am always seeking new adventures and trying new things! Some of my favourite recreational activities include kayaking and fishing at Elkwater Lake, horseback riding, and watching hockey games with my family.
Traveling
I am enthusiastic about travelling to new places to appreciate different cultures, languages, and perspectives. I recently travelled to Costa Rica on an Indigenous Studies trip to learn more about the BriBri indigenous people's cosmovision, culture, traditions, and medicines. Visiting the community to experience cacao processing, organic farming, and a local BriBri school made this trip memorable. Experiences like these have taught me how I can become a more culturally responsive and inclusive educator for all my students.
Teaching Children
Over the past several years, I have been dedicated to finding child-focused employment and volunteer opportunities. Each of these opportunities has taught me important lessons about how to teach children that have diverse learning needs and interests. These opportunities have also given me a chance to further explore literacy development, STEM learning, English Language Development, physical education, and artistic expression outside of the classroom.

I have had the opportunity to the Summer Reading Program Coordinator at the Redcliff Public Library, a Park Interpreter at Police Point Park, a English Language Tutor for Saamis Immigration, and a Health and Fitness Coordinator at the YMCA.
