Fostering Effective Relationships

These are several of the cards I received from my students on the last day of Practicum II in my second-grade classroom. Over the course of twelve weeks, I built high-quality relationships with each of my students. The writing in their cards truly captures what I meant to my students and how I was able to impact them during my time as their teacher.
The Teaching Quality Standard says:

A teacher builds positive and productive relationships with students, parents/guardians, peers and others in the school and local community to support student learning.

This artifact shows that I am able to form relationships with my students that have created a lasting impression. Building positive relationships with my students was integral to their learning and success. I saw significant growth in many of my students both personally and academically because I prioritized creating meaningful connections in my classroom.

This is my midpoint evaluation for Practicum I, which is my field experience placement in my third year of education. During this practicum, I had the opportunity to develop relationships with many of the sixth-grade students in my class at Ross Glen School. The comments made by my mentor teacher on this evaluation prove my ability to create positive relationships that help facilitate student learning in the classroom.

This artifact demonstrates that I am able to create relationships that ultimately lead students to be more successful in the classroom. Continuously supporting each student on their learning journey has given many of them more confidence in themselves and their learning abilities. of every student's learning journey has endowed some of the students with more confidence in themselves and their learning abilities. My mentor teacher also said, "Morgan is always respectful and professional and treats her students and colleagues with dignity." This shows that I appreciate everyone and always treat them with respect.
